||Beijing - Kunming
Take a relaxing Hutong Tour

the airport for flight to Kunming. You

transferred to your hotel.

(1368-1644). These homes traditionally comprised
buildings built around an enclosed courtyard, but
many have been subdivided in modern times.
The huge regal garden in the northwest of Beijing

at least half a day of your time. As long ago as
the Yuan Dynasty, officials set up their private
gardens in this scenic area.
After breakfast, our driver
will pick you up for a day of sight seeing of the
Stone Forest. Drive back to Kunming in the afternoon.
Forest: Situated in Lunan County, it is an
area of typical karst landform with numerous groups
of strange gray-black stone peaks and stone pillars.
The Stone Forest covers an area of 400 square
kilometers, is about 85 kilometers away from Kunming
and requires 1.5 hours' driving.
|| Kunming - Lijiang
Take morning flight to Lijiang.
Visit the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain, the Baisha
Murals, the Ancient Shuhe Village of Naxi people.
In the afternoon, explore Lijiang Ancient Town -
Dragon Snow Mountain: The mountain is located
15 kilometers north of Lijiang, it has 13 peaks,
stretching 35 kilometers from north to south.
Shanzidou, the main peak, is 5,596 meters above
sea level. Access to the mountain is provided
by a cable lift to Yunshanping Meadow, halfway
to the glacier peak. Every season, different kinds
of flowers bloom and almost throughout the entire
year visitors can see flowers in bloom.
Baisha Murals: Lijiang's murals are works
of the Ming Dynasty, chiefly created from the
Hongwu to the Wanli eras. They were originally
distributed among the Juexiansi Temple and twelve
others, nine of which fell to ruins. The remaining
four temples have altogether 55 murals, with a
total area of 139.22 sq. m.
people: Naxi literature is rich in form and
content. Besides works by Naxi scholars and writers,
there is a repository of oral folk literature.
Ancient Town: As one of UNESCO's World Heritage
sites in China, Lijiang Ancient Town has attracted
many tourists from home and abroad. Different
with other old towns, it has no city wall. Lijiang
features with cobbled streets, crisscrossing canals
flowing with water, swaying willow trees and gaily-hued
blossoms and many buildings and structures are
in styles of Ming and Qing dynasties. The people
here are mainly from the Naxi ethnic group and
you can still see many older women dressed in
their traditional attire. They have an obvious
passion for flowers, as almost every courtyard
is a garden.
||Lijiang - Shangri-La
Free in the morning. After
lunch, drive 180Km to Shangri-la. On the way, visit
the Tiger Leaping Gorge and the First bend of the
Leaping Gorge: It was named after a legend where
a tiger jumped across the narrowest part of the
gorge. It has a total length of 25 kilometers and
with a depth of 3,790 meters, so it is believed
to be one of the world's deepest gorges. The gorge
is east to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and west
to the Haba Snow Mountain.
First bend of the Yangtze River: The upper reaches
of the Yangtze River is named the Jinsha River,
which originates from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
The Jinsha River flowed southward along the Hengduan
Mountain ranges and was forced to the turn to north
because of the Alpine movements which caused changes
in the earth's physiognomy. When the river reaches
Shigu Township, it makes an abrupt turn and flows
further northward, forming the rare V-shape bend.
Visit the Songzanlin Lama
Temple, the Potatso National Park (including Shudu
Lake, Bitahai Lake and Xiaji Resort.).
Lama Temple: Covering an area of 33 hectares,
it is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in
Yunnan. The monastery was originally built in 1679,
and the construction took two years. The monastery
houses many treasured works of art: golden figures
of Buddha josses, Tibetan lections, golden lamps,
silver censers and many more. All of these arts
are wonderful collections from dynasties.
Lake: It is located 35 kilometers east of Shangri-La.
The lake covers an area of about 160 hectares with
an average depth of 20 meters. Hidden in a dense
forest, the Bitahai Lake is noted for its limpid
water and its beautiful scenery which is set against

National Park. The lake water is crystal clear.
Around the lake, there are dense forests of fir
spruce and birch. These are filled with wild animals
such as musk deer, birds, wild cats, bears, pheasants
and leopards, etc. Visitors can trek along the planked
path by the lake to enjoy the picturesque scenery.
||Shangri-la - Lhasa
Take flight to Lhasa. Upon
arrival at Lhasa Gonggar Airport, you will be met
by your local guide and transferred to the hotel
in Lhasa city (2 hours' drive), you will view the
Stone Giant Buddha engraved in the mountain face
en route. After checking in the hotel, rest in the
afternoon to get adapted to the high altitude.
After breakfast, visit Potala
Palace, the winter residence of the Dalai Lama &
listed as a world heritage site. After lunch in
local restaurant, you'll visit the Jokhang Temple,
which has a history of 1,300 years, it is the spiritual
center of Tibet. Every day, pilgrims from every
corner of Tibet trek here from long distances to
worship. Finally, have a relaxed walking on Barkhor
Street, it is dazzling you sense; it has all manner
of goods from turquoise jewelry to meditation beads,
colorful traditional Tibetan clothes and yak wool
The day's visiting is from
the Norbulingka Park, the former summer palace of
Dalai Lama. After that, come to Sera Monastery,
one of Lhasa's two great Gelugpa monasteries, and
the "Buddhism Scriptures Debating" in Sera is very
famous. Finally, visit the Tibetan Carpet Factory.
|| Lhasa - Shanghai
Take morning flight to Shanghai
after breakfast. Take
a stroll over the Bund and Nanjing Road.
Bund: Symbolic of Old Shanghai, the Bund was
the city's Wall St, a place of feverish trading,
of fortunes made and lost.
Visit the Yuyuan Garden and
the nearby Chenghuangmiao Old Street. Transfer
