our guide will pick you up at the airport and transfer
to your hotel.
||Kunming - Jianshui
Drive to Jianshui, explore
the charming town that is full of Chinese ancient
architecture. Visit city gate - Chaoyang Tower.
Our best chances for photo opportunities will be
at the Zhu's Family Garden, the Confucian Temple
and the Shuanglong Bridge. In the evening, explore
the old residential area and its unique ancient
wells. Stay overnight at Zhu Family's Garden, the
best hotel in Jianshui.
||Jianshui - Yuanyang
+ Lunch + Dinner)
Take an early morning trip
to the Tuanshan Village and the Garden of Zhang
Family. Drive to Yuanyang where you will have tons
of great shooting opportunities. On the way, visit
the Swallow Cave. Capture the fabulously sunset
view of Laohuzui terraced fields. Stay overnight
at Mengnong Chieftain Palace.

We have a dawn visit to
the stunning terraced fields at Duoyishu Village.
In the afternoon, visit Qingkou Ethnic Hani Village
and rice terraces, then capture the beautiful scenery
at Bada terraced fields and bustling Shengcun Market.
Enjoy the sunset of terrace fields in Longshuba
in the late afternoon.
||Yuanyang - Kunming
We are up again for another
dawn photo shoot at Yuanyang, do a bit more landscape
photography and portraiture, seizing on the opportunities
all around us in these hills, then return to Kunming.
Visit the Stone Forest on the way.
Forest: Situated in Lunan County, it is an area
of typical karst landform with numerous groups of
strange gray-black stone peaks and stone pillars.
The Stone Forest covers an area of 400 square kilometers,
is about 85 kilometers away from Kunming and requires
1.5 hours' driving.
|| Kunming - Lijiang
Take flight to Lijiang. Explore
Sifang Street in Lijiang Ancient Town.
As one of UNESCO's World Heritage sites in China,
Lijiang Ancient Town has attracted many tourists
from home and abroad. Different with other old towns,
it has no city wall. Lijiang features with cobbled
streets, crisscrossing canals flowing with water,
swaying willow trees and gaily-hued blossoms and
many buildings and structures are in styles of Ming
and Qing dynasties. The people here are mainly from
the Naxi ethnic group and you can still see many
older women dressed in their traditional attire.
They have an obvious passion for flowers, as almost
every courtyard is a garden.
|| Lijiang (Breakfast
Visit the Jade Dragon Snow
Mountain, the Baisha Murals and the Ancient Shuhe
Village of Naxi People.
Dragon Snow Mountain: The mountain is located
15 kilometers north of Lijiang, it has 13 peaks,
stretching 35 kilometers from north to south.
Shanzidou, the main peak, is 5,596 meters above
sea level. Access to the mountain is provided
by a cable lift to Yunshanping Meadow, halfway
to the glacier peak. Every season, different kinds
of flowers bloom and almost throughout the entire
year visitors can see flowers in bloom.
Baisha Murals: Lijiang's murals are works
of the Ming Dynasty, chiefly created from the
Hongwu to the Wanli eras. They were originally
distributed among the Juexiansi Temple and twelve
others, nine of which fell to ruins. The remaining
four temples have altogether 55 murals, with a
total area of 139.22 sq. m.
people: Naxi literature is rich in form and
content. Besides works by Naxi scholars and writers,
there is a repository of oral folk literature.
||Lijiang - Shangri-La
Drive 180Km to Shangri-la. On the way, visit the
Tiger Leaping Gorge and the First bend of the Yangtze
Leaping Gorge: It was named after a legend where
a tiger jumped across the narrowest part of the
gorge. It has a total length of 25 kilometers and
with a depth of 3,790 meters, so it is believed
to be one of the world's deepest gorges. The gorge
is east to the Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and west
to the Haba Snow Mountain.
First bend of the Yangtze River: The upper reaches
of the Yangtze River is named the Jinsha River,
which originates from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau.
The Jinsha River flowed southward along the Hengduan
Mountain ranges and was forced to the turn to north
because of the Alpine movements which caused changes
in the earth's physiognomy. When the river reaches
Shigu Township, it makes an abrupt turn and flows
further northward, forming the rare V-shape bend.
Visit the Songzanlin Lama
Temple, the Pudacuo Scenic region (including Shudu
Lake, Bita Lake resort and Xiaji Resort.).
Lama Temple: Covering an area of 33 hectares,
it is the largest Tibetan Buddhist monastery in
Yunnan. The monastery was originally built in 1679,
and the construction took two years. The monastery
houses many treasured works of art: golden figures
of Buddha josses, Tibetan lections, golden lamps,
silver censers and many more. All of these arts
are wonderful collections from dynasties.
Lake: It is located 35 kilometers east of Shangri-La.
The lake covers an area of about 160 hectares with
an average depth of 20 meters. Hidden in a dense
forest, the Bitahai Lake is noted for its limpid
water and its beautiful scenery which is set against
Lake: One of the two beautiful lakes in Pudacuo
National Park. The lake water is crystal clear.
Around the lake, there are dense forests of fir
spruce and birch. These are filled with wild animals
such as musk deer, birds, wild cats, bears, pheasants
and leopards, etc. Visitors can trek along the planked
path by the lake to enjoy the picturesque scenery.

Visit the Mingyong Glacier
at Meili Snow Mountain.
Snow Mountain: The most popular attraction in
Dingqing Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture is Meili
Snow Mountain, which is located about 10 km northeast
of Deqin County. Meili Snow Mountain boasts numerous
snow-clad ridges and peaks, thirteen of which exceed
6,000 meters above the sea level. Tibetans believe
that Mount Meili represents the mind emanation of
the Lord Buddha, whereas Mount Khailash in Western
Tibet represents the body and Ne Tsari in Central
Tibet represents the speech.

Tour to the Dragon Gate
in Western Hills, then visit Bamboo Monastery. Transfer
to the airport for your departure, end of service.
Monastery: The first temple dedicated to Zen
Buddhism in Yunnan. It dates back to the Song Dynasty
(960-1279). The present structure mostly dates from
the late Qing Dynasty (1644-1911). The temple's
most outstanding artistic feature is the statues
of the life-sized clay figures of 500 Arhats.
Hills: The forest
reserve on the west bank of the Dianchi
Lake consists of the Huating and Taihan mountains.
This is a colossal natural forest reserve in the
midst of a lofty mountain range crisscrossed by
babbling brooks and gurgling streams. Ancient trees
are adorned with thick, lush foliage and birds chirp
and flutter in the green treetops. Near the top
of the mountain, is the Dragon Gate. Hacked from
the cliff between 1781 and 1835 by a Taoist monk
and co-workers, the Dragon Gate is a group of grottoes,
sculptures, corridors and pavilions.
